REGIONS OF OUR WORLD

What is a Region? “Regions” are simply areas of our globe that share similar characteristics. Example of a popular region in our area would be this mystical place we all (Minnesoootans) refer to as “UP NORTH”. Like other regions within our world, there is no magic line or welcome sign as you drive into Up North. Up North is simply an “in general” place where people head to relax and recreate in the northern wooded/lake areas of our beautiful state. It is real, but not real at the same time, which can cause great confusion for aspiring geographers. As our class travels throughout our planet, we will always take some time to ID and Map out the general regional neighborhoods throughout our planet’s landscape.
